All our camera controllers are from San
Diego State University. We have over 20 controllers in the Lab and on
our mountain sites. We use both the Generation I and Generation II
systems, with both VME and PCI interfaces. We developed the first
Microsoft Windows interface to the SDSU PCI interface card.
Most of our older systems run the ICE data acquisition system under IRAF.
All voltages and waveform information is downloaded to the controller from our
computers, allowing rapid configuration and optimization of any detector.
(See dewar at left, with accompanying controller underneath).
By using a single common pinout of all controllers (both generations) and
dewars, we are able to swap out any of systems at any time. This is a
particularly important aspect of maintenance and operation of so many systems.
