************************************************************************* runlib$detinfo.txt ccd26 (2kx2kvatt) Detector information file Last change 3-Sep-98 Michael Lesser ************************************************************************* CCD Characterization: The full well is 57,000 electrons (not DN!) unbinned. Full well is 114,000 electrons binned 2x2. Read noise is 5.7 e, with a gain of 1.9 e/DN. Dark current is approximately 20 electrons/pixel/hour. Noise and gain can can be found from the command "dcapinfo". The command "dcapinfo verb+" will give all documented information on the currently selected CCD (selected by detpars.detname). The normal operating CCD temperature is -115C. CCD Background Information: This is a Loral 3-edge buttable CCD with 15 um square pixels. It has been thinned at the Steward Observatory CCD Laboratory and is mounted in the standard Steward 2k3eb Invar package. The device has a passivated platinum film coating which does not require a UV flood. The CCD has 4 partial blocked columns (dark) and 3 faint warm columns (bright). CTE is excellent. *** History Notes *** 1-Sep-98: CCD setup for new ICE software. 24-Apr-96: Code modified to allow pause-stop and pause-abort\ to work properly. 10-Apr-96: Code fixed to allow reverse shifting for focus exposures. 21-Mar-96: A new CCD has been installed to replace the previous 2k3eb device which had CTE problems and suffered a catastrphic failure. The new devices is identical in format and function. Shutter driver modified for higher drive current, TTL and open-collector output, and new keyed cable. December, 1995: CCD first installed in VATT dewar with SDSU type controller.
