GOES-17 In Operation

The GOES-17 (GOES-WEST) weather satellite (formally GOES-S) launched on March 1, 2018 with a CCD sensor which was backside processed at ITL. The sensor was developed by Semiconductor Technology Associates, Inc. for the Geostationary Lightning Mapper (GLM) instrument.
